This session-strength hazy ale presents a vibrant sensory fusion, merging the tropical intensity of Citra and Mosaic hops with the earthy sophistication of tea. Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (3-5 SRM). Features a thick, frothy white head with moderate retention and light lacing. Clarity is hazy to opaque, consistent with the style's name.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of tropical fruit (mango, pineapple) and citrus (grapefruit) driven by Citra and Mosaic. A secondary layer of toasted grain and woody, earthy notes emerges from the Hojicha, supported by a faint floral tea leaf character.
Taste. Initial impression is juicy and fruit-forward with citrus and stone fruit. Low bready malt flavor is quickly overtaken by tropical hop notes. The mid-palate introduces a unique roasted, nutty quality from the Hojicha tea, which lends structure. Bitterness is low to moderate, well-integrated with the natural tannins of the black tea.
