As it opens, the influence of Fuggles hops provides a classic earthy undertone. On the palate, expect a rich tapestry of dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans, providing a comforting, hearth-like depth. Despite its moderate strength, it maintains a hearty character with a clean, moderately dry finish that balances the luxurious malt richness with a firm, traditional bitterness.
Appearance. Very deep brown to opaque black (35-40 SRM). It features a large, creamy tan head with excellent retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. Moderate-high intensity featuring prominent roasted coffee and dark chocolate notes. A distinctive light smokiness and low red-fruit esters add complexity. The hop aroma is low but noticeably earthy and floral, characteristic of Fuggles.
