Staggeringly Good

This Double IPA is a sensory onslaught, defined by a massive, silky foundation of oats that provides a distinctively chewy texture. The hop profile is led by a vibrant whirlpool addition of Citra, delivering bright citrus notes, while a heavy dry-hop of Galaxy and HBC431 introduces intense layers of tropical passionfruit, peach, and herbal spice. Despite the 8.2% ABV, the alcohol remains well-integrated within the dense malt body. It balances aggressive hop saturation with a smooth, velvety finish, making for an extremely high-impact experience where modern hop aromatics meet a robust, grain-forward structure.

Appearance. Deep gold to pale amber (7-10 SRM) with a persistent, dense white head. Displays a notable haze from the heavy oat grist, though remains luminous.

Aroma. High intensity hop aromatics featuring pungent grapefruit and lime from Citra, backed by the tropical passionfruit and pineapple notes of Galaxy. HBC431 contributes complex stone fruit and a hint of earthy spice. The malt is soft and grainy with a creamy sweetness in the background.

Taste. Bold citrus and tropical fruit flavors dominate the palate. The bitterness is firm and moderately high but is significantly smoothed by the heavy oat presence. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering resinous hop character and a clean, soft malt backbone that supports the hop intensity without cloying.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full body with a characteristically chewy and creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate, and there is a gentle, warming alcohol presence that avoids being sharp or solventy.
