This vibrant Gose reimagines a historical style with a bold, tropical, and dark berry twist. Intense aromatics of zesty Key Lime and sharp Blackcurrant lead the charge, followed by a juicy, sun-ripened Pineapple sweetness. On the palate, a firm lactic tartness provides a refreshing backbone, harmonizing with the subtle salinity and earthy coriander typical of the style. The wheat-heavy malt base provides a soft, doughy foundation that balances the fruit's acidity. Effervescent and bright, this beer finishes crisp and remarkably dry, leaving a lingering impression of citrus zest and tart berry skins against a mouthwatering saline finish.
Appearance. Deep magenta to purple-red (20-30 SRM) depending on fruit concentration; hazy to opaque from wheat and fruit solids. Moderate pink-tinted head with fair retention and light lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant notes of tart blackcurrant musk and bright, zesty key lime. Secondary notes of sweet, tropical pineapple and a faint, doughy wheat malt character. Clean lactic acidity is present alongside a whisper of coriander spice. No hop aroma.
Taste. Initial impression is a sharp, refreshing lactic sourness. Prominent flavors of tangy key lime juice and earthy blackcurrant skins, followed by a mid-palate of juicy pineapple sweetness. Low bready malt flavor. Bitterness is very low, as the acidity provides the primary balance. Light salt character is noticeable, particularly on the finish, enhancing the fruit flavors. Finishes very dry and tart with a lingering citrus zest.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body; high carbonation providing an effervescent, tingly sensation. The salt provides a round, mouthwatering quality. Very low alcohol warmth despite the slightly elevated strength. Minimal astringency from fruit skins.
