This Belgian Tripel presents a vibrant golden hue topped by an exceptionally resilient white head. The sensory profile is defined by a sophisticated interplay of yeast-driven esters and phenols, leading with notes of ripe banana and bright orange zest. Subtle hints of sourdough maltiness from Belgian malt merge with spicy accents of clove and coriander, providing a complex bouquet. While it carries the traditional malt character, it leans toward a sweeter palate than typical examples, offering a long, fruit-forward finish. Despite its strength, the alcohol is expertly integrated, maintaining the high drinkability characteristic of this classic monastic style.
Appearance. Deep yellow to golden (SRM 5–7). Large, rocky, long-lasting white head with exceptional Belgian lacing. Clear with visible effervescence.
Aroma. High intensity bouquet featuring moderate banana and orange esters. Pronounced spicy phenols reminiscent of clove and coriander, supported by a light, grainy-sweet sourdough malt character. Low floral hop notes and a soft, spicy alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial impression is fruity and spicy. Strong notes of banana, citrus peel, and clove are balanced by a grainy Belgian malt sweetness. Hop bitterness is present but moderate, allowing a lingering sweetness to persist into the finish rather than the traditional bone-dry termination. Aftertaste is characterized by spicy yeast and sweet orange.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with high, effervescent carbonation. Creamy texture from the bottle fermentation. Deceptive alcohol presence with only a subtle, integrated warmth and no harshness.
