St. Patrick's Beer Hoppy Lager
This German Pils presents a vibrant modern twist on a classic style. It pours a brilliant golden hue, topped by a persistent, creamy white head. The sensory profile is defined by a bold dry-hopping regimen featuring Citra and Motueka, which deliver a bright bouquet of lime zest, grapefruit, and subtle tropical notes. Beneath these modern hop layers lies a clean, doughy malt foundation that provides a delicate sweetness. Appearance. 2–4 SRM. Golden yellow with brilliant clarity. Dense, creamy white head with excellent retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate-high hop intensity showcasing citrusy and tropical notes of lime, lemon peel, and grapefruit from Citra and Motueka. Background malt character is low, suggesting sweet dough and toasted crackers. Clean fermentation with no esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Initial crispness gives way to a firm hop bitterness. Flavors of lime zest and citrus oil dominate, supported by a grainy-sweet malt backbone. The balance is hop-forward, finishing very dry and clean with a lingering, refreshing bitterness and a touch of minerality.
