Distributed Ledger is a powerhouse Triple New England-style Double IPA that showcases an intensive triple dry-hop regimen of Citra, Motueka, and Simcoe. At 9.8% ABV, it presents a saturating sensory profile defined by vibrant waves of lime zest, ripe mango, and passionfruit. The Citra and Motueka hops deliver a concentrated citrus and tropical punch, while Simcoe adds a sophisticated layer of resinous pine and earthy depth. Despite its formidable strength, the beer maintains a soft, pillowy texture, finishing with a restrained bitterness that allows the lush fruit character and smooth alcohol warmth to linger elegantly on the palate.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-9 SRM); opaque, milky haze; large, persistent, creamy white head with dense lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma of tropical fruit, passionfruit, and crushed lime from Citra and Motueka; supporting notes of resinous pine and grapefruit from Simcoe; low, clean, bready malt background; moderate fruity esters; smooth, well-integrated alcohol.
Taste. High intensity hop flavors of pineapple, mango, and lime zest; mid-palate resin and pine complexity; low, soft, grain-like malt character; moderately low perceived bitterness for the style; medium-dry finish with a long, fruit-forward and slightly resinous aftertaste.
