Soma Beer

This Hazy IPA presents an invitingly opaque profile defined by a synergy of Citra and Kohatu hops. Citra brings a bright, punchy citrus layer of grapefruit and lime zest, while Kohatu introduces unique notes of fresh tropical pineapple and a subtle hint of crushed pine needles. The aroma is highly intense, leaping from the glass with stone fruit esters. On the palate, the experience is notably soft and smooth as the name suggests, featuring a bready, wheaty malt base that cushions a restrained bitterness. The finish is juicy and off-dry, leaving a lingering impression of tropical fruit salad and soft citrus.

Appearance. Straw to gold (4-6 SRM); opaque, hazy appearance with a soft glow; thick, meringue-like white head with excellent persistence and lacing.

Aroma. High intensity; dominant tropical fruit (pineapple, mango) and citrus (grapefruit, lime) from Citra and Kohatu hops; low bready, grainy malt; clean fermentation with mild stone fruit esters; absence of any grassy or herbal notes.

Taste. High fruity hop flavor echoing the aroma including tangerine, lime, and peach; malt is supportive and lightly bready; bitterness is low to moderate and well-masked by the soft body; finish is juicy and off-dry with a clean, lingering tropical aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture; medium carbonation; light, well-integrated alcohol warmth; absence of harshness or astringency; smooth, almost creamy finish.
