Soma Slick
Soma Slick is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases a saturated tropical profile through its expert use of modern hops. The aroma is immediately impactful, led by the distinct pineapple punch of Bru-1 and the bright, zesty grapefruit notes of Citra. Nectaron rounds out the bouquet with deep layers of passionfruit and ripe stone fruit. It pours with a luminous, opaque haze and a dense, meringue-like head. On the palate, a soft, grain-forward malt base provides a pillowy texture that carries intense flavors of mango and nectarine. The finish is smooth and low in bitterness, emphasizing a juicy, fruit-forward drinkability.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (4 SRM) with a deep, opaque haze and a luminous shine. Supports a thick, rocky, white head with exceptional retention and intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent pineapple, passionfruit, and citrus zest. Secondary notes of peach and mango are supported by a clean, bready, lightly grainy malt character. Fermentation is clean with supportive tropical esters.
Taste. High fruity hop flavors of pineapple, grapefruit, and stone fruit. The malt provides a low-to-medium bready sweetness that balances the hop saturation. Perceived bitterness is low to medium-low, well-integrated and never harsh. The finish is off-dry and smooth with a lingering tropical fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation. Remarkably smooth with no astringency or hop burn; light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present.
