This Imperial Stout delivers a decadent sensory experience centered on the lush, nutty influence of toasted coconut. At 11.3% ABV, the beer presents a formidable backbone of espresso and bittersweet chocolate malts. The coconut adds a layer of tropical creaminess that complements the deep esters of dried plums and raisins. While the malt profile is intensely roasty and dark, the toasted coconut provides a confectionery sweetness that is balanced by a firm hop bitterness. Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). It pours with a dense, dark tan head with moderate retention that leaves thick lacing. High viscosity is apparent in the glass with visible legs.

Aroma. High intensity with dominant toasted coconut and vanilla overlapping a base of bittersweet chocolate, roasted coffee, and molasses. Low dark fruit esters of prune and black currant are present, alongside a clean, smooth alcohol warmth and negligible hop aroma.

Taste. Initial impression is rich and sweet with immediate flavors of toasted coconut and cocoa nibs. The malt profile is complex, featuring layers of charred grain, espresso, and dark caramel. Mid-palate reveals dried fruit notes. Bitterness is moderate to firm, providing essential balance to the luscious coconut sweetness. The finish is lingering and bittersweet with a pleasant toasted nuttiness.

Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied with a thick, chewy, and velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, enhancing the creamy mouthfeel. A noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present without being solventy.
