Soma Bubble Wrap is an intensely aromatic Double IPA that showcases a masterful blend of Galaxy, Cryo Ekuanot, Cryo Citra, and Mosaic hops. The inclusion of oat and wheat flakes creates a soft, pillowy foundation that carries high-intensity notes of passion fruit, bright citrus, and crushed pineapple. A bouquet of resinous pine and ripe blueberry gives way to a palate where firm, integrated bitterness balances a subtle, grainy sweetness. This beer delivers a complex tropical experience, finishing medium-dry with a lingering lime and stone fruit aftertaste, all supported by a smooth, creamy texture and well-integrated alcohol warmth.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (7-9 SRM) with a slight haze from the oat and wheat additions. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by passion fruit from Galaxy and zesty citrus from Cryo Citra. Mosaic adds complex notes of blueberry and pine, while Cryo Ekuanot provides a tropical fruit punch and lime character. Malt is low and neutral, providing a light grainy background.
Taste. Strong hop flavors of mango, pineapple, and citrus zest lead the impression. A moderately high bitterness is present but remains clean and smooth without harshness. The malt character is soft and supportive, showing light bready notes from the wheat. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering, resinous, and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, smooth texture derived from the oats and wheat. Carbonation is moderate. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present, reflecting the 8% ABV without any harshness or astringency.
