Forward is a striking Double IPA that showcases an explosive sensory profile driven by a sophisticated blend of Nectaron Cryo, Nectaron, Waimea, and Citra hops. The experience is defined by an intense rush of ripe stone fruit, zesty grapefruit, and lush tropical pineapple, all supported by a lean, neutral malt backbone. Despite its 8% ABV, the beer remains exceptionally drinkable, offering a crisp, dry finish that emphasizes a firm but smooth bitterness. Hints of resinous pine from the Waimea provide a grounding contrast to the bright, tropical fruit character of the Citra and Nectaron, resulting in a complex and highly aromatic modern strong ale.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (7-8 SRM). Features a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head with excellent lacing. Clarity is good, though a very slight, modern hop haze is present.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent tropical notes of mango and pineapple from Nectaron. Citra adds sharp grapefruit and lime zest, while Waimea contributes a subtle piney and floral undertone. The malt is neutral, clean, and grainy, providing a quiet background to the hop-forward profile.

Taste. Initial impression is a wave of complex hop flavors reflecting the tropical and citrus aroma. Moderately high bitterness is firm and assertive but remains smooth rather than harsh. A low, clean, soft malt character supports the hops without adding sweetness or caramel. The finish is notably dry and clean, with a lingering hoppy and resinous aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp bite. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present, consistent with its 8% strength, without any harsh astringency.
