This Double IPA is a vibrant showcase of Southern Hemisphere hop intensity, featuring a premium blend of Nelson, Motueka, Riwaka, and Nectaron. The sensory profile is dominated by a complex bouquet of crushed gooseberry and white wine grapes from the Nelson, layered with the zesty lime of Motueka. Riwaka adds pungent passionfruit and citrus notes, while Nectaron provides a lush backdrop of ripe peach and stone fruit. Despite its 8% strength, the beer remains exceptionally drinkable with a clean, neutral malt base that allows the vivid tropical and vinous hop characters to lead into a firm, dry finish.

Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (7-9 SRM). Pours with a moderate-sized, persistent white head. Good clarity, though a soft, hop-derived haze is present consistent with heavy dry-hopping.

Aroma. Intense and multifaceted hop aroma. Prominent notes of gooseberry, Sauvignon Blanc grapes, and lime zest. Secondary layers of passionfruit, grapefruit, and stone fruit (peach). Malt is low and neutral, providing a light crackery background. Clean fermentation profile with a hint of smooth alcohol.

Taste. Initial hop saturation of tropical and stone fruits. Moderately high bitterness that is firm but not harsh. Hop flavors mirror the aroma: lime, white grape, and peach from the Nelson, Motueka, and Nectaron. Malt is supportive and soft, featuring light grainy notes. Finishes very dry with a lingering, resinous, and fruity aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture. Moderate carbonation. Provides a restrained, well-integrated alcohol warmth without any harsh hop-derived astringency or solvent notes.
