This Hazy IPA, a collaboration between Sofia Electric and Kabinet Brewery, presents a vibrant sensory profile defined by its intensive hop-forward character. The use of Strata and Cashmere hops delivers a lush tropical bouquet of ripe pineapple, succulent guava, and sweet melon, accented by bright lime zest and wild strawberry. The addition of oats and a cream-like texture results in a plush, soft mouthfeel that carries these fruity esters across the palate. Balanced by a restrained bitterness and a gentle, bready malt backbone, this expression remains remarkably drinkable while showcasing the saturated, juicy qualities typical of the style.
Appearance. Deep straw to light gold (4-6 SRM) with an opaque, hazy glow. Pours with a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head that exhibits high retention and leaves thick lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring tropical notes of pineapple and guava, followed by melon and a distinctive bright berry note. A background of grainy, bready malt provides support, while fruity yeast esters complement the lime-like citrus hop qualities.
Taste. Massive fruit flavors dominated by tropical pineapple, melon, and lime. The malt flavor is low but provides a soft, bready foundation. Bitterness is low to moderate, perceived as soft rather than sharp. The finish is off-dry and smooth, with a lingering aftertaste of sweet berries and tropical fruit.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable creaminess and smooth, velvety texture from the oat addition. Carbonation is moderate. No harshness or astringency, with only a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
