Appearance. Jet black and opaque with high viscosity visible as legs on the glass. Topped with a small, dense, deep tan head showing moderate retention and fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity and complex. Dominant rum-derived notes of toasted coconut, vanilla, and spicy oak are balanced by cognac-driven burnt sugar and candied fruits. The base reveals deep bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and black cherry, with a smooth, integrated alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial impression is rich and spirit-soaked, featuring intense dark chocolate and molasses. The mid-palate is dominated by rum-inspired coconut and vanilla, transitioning into cognac notes of dried figs and raisins. Firm roasted bitterness provides balance against a sweet, malty backbone. The finish is long and warming, showing complex layers of oak, cocoa, and dark fruit.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and thick with a chewy, velvety texture. Low to moderate carbonation enhances the beer's lusciousness. Smooth, noticeable alcohol warmth is present without being harsh or solventy.
