Sofia Electric Brewing

Equanimity is a vibrant Hazy IPA that captures a lush, tropical essence through an intensive dry-hopping regimen. The aromatic profile is dominated by a cocktail of passion fruit and pineapple, driven by the specific synergy of Motueka, Mosaic, El Dorado, and Vic Secret hops. A soft, grainy malt backbone supports the massive fruit character, leading to a silky, pillowy palate. The 6.8% ABV provides a subtle structural warmth, while the hop-forward profile remains focused on juiciness over sharp bitterness. It finishes with a lingering tropical sweetness and a clean, ester-supported fruit depth, embodying a modern and approachable profile.

Appearance. Color is a pale straw to light gold (4-6 SRM) with an opaque, uniform haze that provides a characteristic shine. It features a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and intricate lacing.

Aroma. High intensity with dominant aromas of ripe pineapple, passion fruit, and mango. Secondary notes of lime zest and stone fruit from the Mosaic and Motueka additions. Malt is subtle, providing a light bready, wheaty base. Fermentation esters are fruity and well-integrated; no harsh alcohol or grassy notes.

Taste. Explosive tropical fruit flavors mirror the aroma, featuring sweet pineapple and punchy passion fruit. The malt presence is low to medium, offering a soft, grainy sweetness that balances the moderate hop bitterness. The mid-palate is juicy and smooth, transitioning into a finish that is off-dry and fruit-laden, without any hop astringency or harshness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a noticeably soft, silky, and pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate, enhancing the fluffy mouthfeel. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present. Completely smooth with no detectable astringency or raw starch texture.
