This imposing Imperial Stout commands immediate attention with its deep complexity and barrel-aged pedigree. Maturation in both Bourbon and Rum casks imparts a luxurious layer of vanilla oak and burnt sugar over a dense foundation of cocoa and milk chocolate. Aromas of marzipan and dark dried fruits like raisins and prunes emerge as the beer warms to its ideal service temperature, supported by a subtle hint of smoked wood. The palate is rich and decadent, balancing intense malt sweetness with a firm bitterness and lingering caramel, making it a sophisticated sipper designed for slow evening contemplation.

Appearance. Jet black and fully opaque. Features a dense, deep tan head with moderate retention. High viscosity is evident through noticeable legs on the glass.

Aroma. Intense and multifaceted. Strong notes of vanilla and oak from the bourbon barrels blend with spicy rum notes. Deep cocoa and milk chocolate malt character is dominant, complemented by esters of prunes and raisins. Distinct marzipan nuttiness, burnt sugar, and a faint hint of smoked wood provide additional layers.

Taste. Bold initial impression of rich milk chocolate and caramel. The mid-palate is highly complex, showcasing vanilla, marzipan, and dark dried fruits. Barrel influence is prominent, contributing flavors of burnt sugar and toasted oak. Bitterness is moderate to firm, providing enough balance against the heavy malt profile. The finish is long and warming with lingering cocoa.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low, supporting a creamy weight. Significant alcohol warmth is present but smooth and well-integrated.
