The Nothing is a formidable Imperial Stout that lives up to its name with a void-like, jet-black appearance and overwhelming sensory weight. Infused with raw cocoa nibs, the profile is defined by an intense, decadent layering of dark chocolate, baker’s cocoa, and espresso-like roast. The malt bill provides a sturdy foundation of molasses and scorched caramel, while the raw cocoa nibs add an earthy, bittersweet complexity that persists from start to finish. Appearance. SRM 40; jet black and completely opaque. Pours with a dense, persistent, deep tan to mocha head that leaves significant lacing and visible legs on the glass indicative of high viscosity.
Aroma. High intensity; dominant scents of dark chocolate, toasted cocoa, and roasted coffee beans. Subtle secondary notes of black cherry, dried figs, and a faint hint of earthy hops are tucked behind a rich, sweet malt backbone. Clean fermentation with a noticeable but well-integrated alcohol presence.
Taste. Bold initial impression of bittersweet chocolate and fudge. Mid-palate reveals deep roasted grains, black licorice, and charred toast.
