This Czech Premium Pale Lager celebrates traditional technique through a sessionable lens. A double decoction mash of rich Vienna malt builds a deeply bready and complex base that defies its small stature. The use of Harlequin hops introduces a unique twist, layering delicate floral and subtle stone fruit notes over the robust malt backbone. It pours a brilliant deep gold with a dense, creamy white head. The palate is characterized by a soft, rounded bitterness and a clean, lingering finish that highlights the interplay between toasted grain and British hop character, offering exceptional drinkability and depth.
Appearance. Deep gold color (approx. 6 SRM). Brilliant clarity. Crowned by a dense, long-lasting, creamy white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Dominated by bready-rich and slightly toasted malt notes from the Vienna malt. The Harlequin hops provide a floral and herbal bouquet with a faint hint of apricot-like esters. Very clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Rich, complex bready maltiness leads the palate, followed by a pronounced but soft and rounded hop bitterness. The Harlequin hops impart floral and spicy flavors. The balance is expertly struck between the decoction-derived malt depth and the clean hop finish. Aftertaste is crisp and lingering with a touch of toasted grain.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate carbonation. No alcohol warmth, providing a refreshing and highly drinkable experience.
