This Hazy IPA from Slowburn Brewing Co-op offers a lush sensory experience driven by a massive double dry-hopped addition of Nelson and Citra. The aroma is dominated by the distinct Nelson character of white grape and gooseberry, intertwined with Citra’s signature notes of lychee, lime, and tropical mango. On the palate, the hop intensity is high, delivering layers of stone fruit and citrus over a soft, bready malt foundation. The mouthfeel is exceptionally smooth and pillowy, with a restrained bitterness that emphasizes a juicy quality. It finishes clean and off-dry, leaving a lingering impression of refreshing tropical fruit.
Appearance. Straw to golden-orange (5 SRM) with a pronounced, opaque haze and a luminous shine. It features a medium, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with prominent white wine, gooseberry, and elderflower notes from Nelson Sauvin, alongside Citra-driven mango and grapefruit. Malt is low and neutral, appearing as lightly bready, with clean, supportive fruity esters.
Taste. Very high fruity hop flavor featuring lime, peach, and white grape. The malt flavor is low and bready. Perceived bitterness is low to medium-low, beautifully integrated into the soft body. The finish is off-dry and smooth without any harshness or grassy character in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, silky texture. Carbonation is moderate. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, but there is no astringency or raw starch texture.
