This Hazy IPA showcases a vibrant interplay between classic Northwest intensity and modern tropical luxury. The appearance is a luminous, opaque gold with a thick, meringue-like head. Simcoe hops lead the charge, offering an assertive sensory profile of resinous pine and damp earth that grounds the beer’s brighter elements. This foundation is elevated by the inclusion of Cashmere hops, which introduce a sweet, herbal juiciness reminiscent of ripe melon and citrus zest. The mouthfeel is exceptionally soft and pillowy, masking the 6.5% ABV with a smooth, medium-full body that allows the complex hop flavors to linger without harsh bitterness.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (4–6 SRM). Opaque, uniform haze providing a healthy shine; features a persistent, rocky white head with high retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma. Prominent notes of resinous pine and earthiness from Simcoe blend with the sweet, tropical melon, lemon-lime, and herbal notes of Cashmere. Background notes of neutral, grainy, and lightly bready malt. Clean fermentation with subtle stone fruit esters.
Taste. An immediate burst of herbal juiciness and lime zest. Simcoe provides a grounded earthy and resiny character, while Cashmere adds layers of sweet fruit and melon. Perceived bitterness is low to medium-low, well-masked by the soft body. Malt is lightly bready and supportive. The finish is soft and off-dry with a lingering fruity, non-harsh aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth texture. Moderate carbonation. Very low alcohol warmth and no hop-derived astringency.
