Hellup! offers a revitalizing Cornish interpretation of a classic Munich Helles, balancing traditional German structure with vibrant modern hop accents. The sensory foundation is built on premium German Pilsner and Vienna malts, delivering a smooth, bready sweetness and a soft, golden hue. While the clean bitterness of Magnum hops provides essential structure, the addition of Motueka introduces a unique sensory layer of citrus, herbs, and pine. This lager is defined by its rounded palate and exceptionally clean fermentation, resulting in a sophisticated, malt-forward profile that finishes soft and drying, remaining incredibly refreshing and substantial.
Appearance. Pale gold (4 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a persistent, creamy white head that leaves delicate lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring grainy-sweet malt and notes of fresh bread from the German Pilsner and Vienna malts. Hop aroma is low to moderate, exhibiting herbal and spicy notes alongside subtle citrus zest and a hint of pine. Very clean fermentation profile with no esters.
Taste. Initial impression of soft, grainy-sweet maltiness. Flavors of cracker and light bread crust predominate, supported by a low to medium-low bitterness. Hop flavors are noticeable but restrained, offering citrus, herbs, and a touch of resinous pine from the Motueka and Magnum hops. The finish is soft and drying with a lingering, clean malt aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, well-lagered character. Moderate carbonation provides a gentle, refreshing prickle. Entirely free of astringency or alcohol warmth.
