This release blends the robust Inertia Imperial Stout with Tripel, creating a sensory profile defined by intense roasted malt and deep caramelized sugar. The barrel contributes muted sherry notes and a subtle spice, while the solera aging introduces a distinctive, slightly tart sharpness. The experience concludes with a structured, tannin-filled finish. It balances the weight of a dark stout with the vinous complexity of aged spirits, offering a multifaceted and harmonious drinking experience.
Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40 SRM). Features a dense, persistent deep tan head with moderate lacing and visible viscosity shown through prominent legs.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of bittersweet chocolate, espresso-like roast, and caramelized sugar. Prominent vinous esters suggesting plums and raisins meld with muted sherry and a subtle spicy note from the spirit barrel.
Taste. Initial rich roasted malt and dark cocoa flavors are quickly joined by layers of caramelized sugar and dried fruit. A light, tart sharpness provides a unique counterpoint to the malt weight.
