This sessionable English Porter presents a velvety sensory experience, elevated by a nitro pour that enhances its creamy textures. The base is defined by rich Chocolate malt and toasty depth, offering distinct notes of toasted nuts without the harshness of heavy roasting. Infusions of bourbon barrel oak contribute a delicate layer of woody vanilla, perfectly complemented by the indulgent, earthy sweetness of maple syrup. Despite the low alcohol content, the beer delivers a robust profile where the English yeast's subtle fruity esters harmonize with the maple's richness. It is a comforting, malt-forward brew that balances traditional British brewing with modern, decadent infusions.
Appearance. SRM 25-30. Dark brown with clear ruby highlights. Topped with a dense, persistent, creamy tan head from the nitro dispense, showing excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring milk chocolate and toasted hazelnut. The maple syrup provides a sweet, woody fragrance, layered with soft vanilla and oak from the bourbon barrel treatment. Low earthy hop notes and subtle dried fruit esters are present.
Taste. Initial chocolate sweetness gives way to bready and toasty malt flavors. The maple syrup is present but integrated, avoiding cloying sweetness. Mild nutty notes and a hint of vanilla-oak complexity emerge. Low bitterness provides enough balance to keep the finish clean and slightly sweet.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with an exceptionally smooth, creamy, and lush texture due to the nitrogenation. Low perceived carbonation. No alcohol warmth, finishing with a soft, coating mouthfeel.
