Leapling is a vibrant Hazy IPA born from a collaboration between Siren Craft Brew and Verdant Brewing Co, featuring a co-pitch of their distinct house yeasts. This triple dry-hopped ale showcases a trans-Pacific hop profile, merging zesty US citrus with vivid New Zealand fruit character. High-intensity aromas of lime and tropical guava lead into a palate saturated with sharp gooseberry and exotic depth. The appearance is characteristically opaque with a luminous golden hue and a persistent, rocky white head. Its soft, medium-full body provides a plush foundation for the intense hop saturation, while the bitterness remains exceptionally low, ensuring a smooth, juice-like finish.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (4 SRM); opaque with a healthy hazy shine. Features a thick, rocky, white meringue-like head with excellent retention and dense lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward bouquet featuring punchy lime zest, tropical guava, and the distinct vinous, green character of gooseberry. Background malt is low and neutral, suggesting bready or doughy notes. Fermentation esters are prominent and fruity, harmonizing with the hop oils.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of tropical and citrus fruit juice. High hop flavors of guava, lime, and tart gooseberry dominate. Malt flavor is low, providing a simple bready support without any toast or caramel. Perceived bitterness is low, allowing for a soft, off-dry finish that lingers with fruit skins rather than hop bite. The fermentation character is clean but supportive of the intense fruit profile.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, soft, and plush body. Carbonation is moderate. It possesses a smooth, almost creamy texture with light alcohol warmth and no detectable hop astringency or harshness.
