Doing Science is a technically focused American IPA born from a collaboration between Siren Craft Brew and Track Brewing Co. This beer highlights the European debut of Strata CGX hops, which provide a concentrated, cryo-charged explosion of passionfruit, strawberry, and dank herbal notes. The sensory profile is further layered with the citrus zest of Citra and the resinous, stone fruit depths of Idaho 7. A special yeast blend ensures a clean, modern fermentation profile that stays out of the way of the massive hop saturation. It presents a bright gold appearance and a snappy, bitter finish, showcasing a refined balance between innovative hop technology and drinkability.
Appearance.Medium gold with a slight, modern haze. Features a medium-sized, persistent white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma.High-intensity hop aroma dominated by passionfruit, red berries, and tropical fruit. Pronounced notes of grapefruit peel and a resinous, piney undertone. Low grainy malt sweetness and a very clean fermentation profile with subtle fruity esters.
Taste.Vibrant hop flavors of mango, strawberry, and citrus pith lead the palate. Medium-high bitterness is firm but clean, balancing a light, grainy-sweet malt backbone. The finish is dry and crisp, leaving a lingering aftertaste of tropical fruit and pine resin.
Mouthfeel.Medium-bodied with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate-high carbonation provides a lively mouth-coating sensation. Minimal, well-integrated alcohol warmth with no astringency.
