Circle Back is a sophisticated reimagining of the Best Bitter, blending traditional British sessionability with the bright hop character of an Italian Pilsner. This collaboration with Birrificio Italiano features dry-hopping with Spalter Select hops sourced from the same farm as the legendary Tipopils. The result is a vibrant sensory profile where classic bready, biscuity, and light caramel malt notes from the English base meet elegant floral, herbal, and spicy hop aromatics. A crisp, medium-light body carries moderate fruity esters before transitioning into a decidedly bitter, clean finish. It is a refreshing, hop-forward take on a classic style that maintains high drinkability while showcasing world-class hop quality.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale amber color. Brilliant clarity with a moderate, creamy off-white head that shows good retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring a complex blend of biscuity and lightly toasted malt, followed by prominent floral and herbal hop notes. Low to moderate fruity esters of apple and pear are present, with no diacetyl.
Taste. Initial bready and biscuit malt sweetness is quickly met by a firm hop bitterness. Hop flavors are floral, peppery, and herbal, reflecting the dry-hopped influence. Low caramel undertones provide balance. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering, clean bitterness and a touch of fruity yeast character.
