Celebrate the intensity of this anniversary Triple IPA, a potent Double IPA that layers an intricate hop tapestry over a lean malt base. The addition of Amarillo, Motueka, and Rakau during the boil establishes a foundation of zesty lime and stone fruit, while an extensive dry-hopping with Amarillo, Azacca, Sabro, and Wai-ti unleashes waves of tropical mango, ripe peach, and a whisper of creamy coconut. At 10% ABV, the beer delivers a significant yet smooth warmth, balanced by a firm, clean bitterness. This high-gravity brew remains remarkably drinkable, finishing dry with a lingering resonance of New World hop oils and citrus zest.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper color with good clarity, though a slight hop haze is present. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with good lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring tropical fruit, stone fruit, and citrus. Specific notes of mango and lime from Azacca and Motueka are prominent, with a hint of coconut from Sabro. Low, neutral grainy malt and a clean, supportive alcohol presence are found in the background.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavor mirroring the aroma with peach, melon, and citrus. High bitterness is firm but clean and smooth, not harsh. Low, soft, and unobtrusive malt character allows the hops to lead. Finishes dry with a long, lingering hoppy and bitter aftertaste.
