SingleCut Beersmiths Grunge! is a vibrant Double IPA that showcases experimental hops from the Pacific Northwest. This double dry-hopped powerhouse opens with an intense sensory bouquet of fresh blueberry and zesty orange, layered with a unique vanilla-like sweetness and complex tropical fruit notes. The use of these new-age varieties creates a deep, resinous hop profile that remains bright and punchy. Beneath the hops, a lean and neutral malt base ensures the fruit-forward character remains the focal point. It finishes crisp and dry, balancing its significant strength with high drinkability and a lingering, clean bitterness that highlights the best of modern American hop innovation.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (SRM 7-10). Displays a moderate haze typical of modern double dry-hopped versions, topped with a persistent, creamy off-white head and excellent lacing.
Aroma. High-intensity aroma dominated by ripe blueberry, orange zest, and a distinct vanilla-cream note. Secondary layers of mango and pineapple are supported by a clean, neutral, and slightly grainy malt background.
Taste. Immediate impact of tropical fruit, specifically blueberry and tangerine. A smooth vanilla character emerges mid-palate, derived from the experimental hop blend. Bitterness is firm but lacks harshness, providing a clean counterpoint to the fruit. The malt character is soft and unobtrusive, leading to a dry, resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture from the heavy dry-hop additions. Moderate carbonation and a restrained, well-integrated alcohol warmth consistent with the 7.7% ABV strength.
