Single Hill Brewing V is a vibrant American IPA that bridges contemporary tropical profiles with a classic West Coast soul. The aromatic profile is intense, led by the signature gooseberry and white wine notes of Nelson Sauvin, complemented by Mosaic’s mixed berries and Idaho 7’s stone fruit. Simcoe adds a distinctive resinous pine edge, while Centennial provides a floral citrus lift. This hop medley sits atop a lean, grainy malt base, delivering a firm, clean bitterness that lingers into a crisp, dry finish. It offers a nostalgic, snappy structure while showcasing the complex, layered fruitiness of its five signature hop varieties.
Appearance. Medium gold to light amber with a slight haze; topped by a thick, persistent white head that leaves intricate lacing as it recedes.
Aroma. High intensity featuring a complex blend of tropical fruit, passion fruit, and crushed grapes. Supporting notes of resinous pine, grapefruit peel, and floral citrus are prominent. A low, clean, grainy maltiness provides a neutral backdrop, allowing the hop esters to dominate.
Taste. Very high hop flavor mirroring the aroma with notes of berry, apricot, and dank pine. Initial impression is hop-forward followed by a firm, clean bitterness that is high but not harsh. The malt is supportive with light cracker and toasted grain flavors. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering, bitter, and hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body with a smooth, snappy texture. Moderate to medium-high carbonation. Features a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth and no perceived astringency.
