This modern take on a German Pils strikes a balance between tradition and subversion. Golden Gal presents a crisp, clean lager foundation that showcases a vibrant hop profile. The use of Callista and Saphir brings floral and soft citrus notes, while Simcoe and Nectaron inject contemporary layers of passionfruit, pineapple, and subtle pine. The malt character remains elegantly lean, featuring doughy, cracker-like notes typical of a well-crafted lager. This beer delivers a firm, refreshing bitterness and a dry finish, evolving the classic style into a bright, fruit-forward experience without losing its quintessential, refreshing drinkability.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (3-4 SRM). Brilliant clarity. Creamy, long-lasting white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring pineapple, stone fruit, and citrus notes from Callista and Nectaron, alongside herbal and spicy undertones from Saphir. Low grainy-sweet and doughy malt character. Clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial doughy malt flavor is quickly suppressed by a medium-high hop bitterness. Distinctive hop flavors of passionfruit, pine, and tangerine from Simcoe and Saphir are prominent. The finish is crisp, dry, and clean with a lingering bitterness and a touch of flinty minerality.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body. High carbonation. Crisp and refreshing with a slight minerally sharpness. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
