Low bitterness and a dry finish make for a smooth drinkability. An ideal choice for the winter months; rounded, warming, nourishing and intensely satisfying.
Simple Things say “The timing is perfect for this strong, fruity ale… it’s the beer equivalent of a luxury duvet; warming, comforting and sumptuous. The brief was to create a beer that occupies the space between a Tripel and Fuller’s Vintage Ale. A big beer that feels special and drinks almost too easily with a rich, sweet body, low bitterness and dry finish.
“Maris Otter, Aromatic and Cara Gold malts plus Keyworth Early Season whole cone hops in the boil and a delicate dry hop with Celeia. Ferment with Edinburgh yeast and leave for an extended conditioning period. That’s it! Nothing complicated but extremely effective. It’s just a good combination of ingredients that really compliment one another, with sweet fruity notes from both malt and hops meeting a suggestion of restrained warming spice from the Keyworth Early – a hop that really deserves to be seen more often. Every time I’ve tasted this beer from brew day onwards it’s been delicious, it tastes like something you’d spread on toast! It looks great too, and it’s an absolute pleasure to be getting it out there today.”
