Backstage IPA is an award-winning American IPA that exemplifies the vibrant character of modern New World hops. The experience begins with a multifaceted bouquet of tropical fruit, leading with distinct notes of passion fruit and zesty tangerine. As the palate unfolds, a subtle berry sweetness emerges, layered over a clean, supporting malt base. The finish provides a classic encore of resinous pine and crisp citric bite, ensuring a refreshingly dry and hoppy conclusion. With its moderate 5.6% ABV, it strikes a balance between accessibility and complex hop saturation, delivering a polished, high-energy profile suited for any setting.
Appearance. Deep gold to light amber (8-10 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a persistent, thick off-white head that leaves consistent lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring a complex blend of passion fruit, tangerine, and mixed berries. Supporting notes of resinous pine and sharp citrus zest are present, underpinned by a low, clean, grainy-sweet malt character and a neutral fermentation profile.
Taste. The initial impression is hop-forward, bursting with tropical fruit and citrus flavors. A firm but smooth bitterness (approx. 50 IBU) provides structure without being harsh. Low, bready malt provides a sufficient backbone to support the fruitiness. The finish is dry and crisp, with a lingering aftertaste of pine and grapefruit peel.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body with a smooth, moderately creamy texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp, refreshing bite. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated.
