Quattuordecuple is a massive, intensely saturated Double IPA that pushes the boundaries of hop expression. A staggering fourteen-stage dry-hopping process featuring El Dorado, Citra, Strata, and Mosaic creates a dense, multi-layered sensory experience. The aroma is a tidal wave of overripe tropical fruit, zesty citrus, and pungent passionfruit. On the palate, Mosaic delivers blueberry and earthy notes, while Citra and Strata contribute vibrant grapefruit and dank resin. El Dorado rounds out the profile with sweet candy-like stone fruit. Despite the high alcohol content, the finish remains surprisingly smooth, supported by a lush, velvety malt backbone and a firm, persistent bitterness.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (8-12 SRM). Opaque and heavily hazy. Dense, creamy, off-white head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Explosive hop-forward bouquet of mango, pineapple, and passionfruit. Distinctive notes of citrus peel, strawberry, and a hint of dank resin. Minimal, clean, grainy malt in the background with a noticeable but well-integrated alcohol sweetness.
Taste. Immediate impact of sweet tropical fruit, melon, and candied orange. Strong hop flavors of grapefruit and berry persist throughout. Bitterness is high but smooth, avoiding harshness. Malt character is supportive and soft, providing a platform for the hops. Finish is medium-dry with a lingering, resinous aftertaste and warming alcohol.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate. Significant, smooth alcohol warmth is present without being solventy. No hop-derived astringency.
