Jorts & Jandals IPA is a vibrant Hazy IPA that pours with a distinct lemon creamsicle hue. The sensory experience is led by a massive double dry-hop addition of Citra, Nectaron, and Nelson, creating an aromatic fruit cup effect brimming with passion fruit, white grape, and peach. A heavy grist of oats and flaked wheat provides a pillowy, soft foundation that carries these intense tropical notes across the palate. This collaboration balances the bright citrus of Citra with the unique stone fruit depth of Nectaron and the vinous qualities of Nelson, finishing with a smooth, restrained bitterness and a lingering, juicy character.
Appearance. Pours a pale lemon yellow (approximately 4 SRM) with a heavy, opaque haze and a luminous shine. Topped with a dense, rocky, white meringue-like head that shows excellent retention and leaves thick, lasting lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring a complex blend of tropical and stone fruits. Prominent notes of passion fruit, crushed gooseberry, and white grape from the Nelson hops mingle with juicy peach and nectarine from the Nectaron. Citra adds a bright lime and grapefruit zest. Low, grainy-sweet malt and bready wheat notes sit in the background with a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. An immediate explosion of fruity hop flavors echoing the aroma: ripe pineapple, mango, and white grape. The mid-palate reveals the stone fruit character of Nectaron, supported by a soft, bready malt presence from the oats and flaked wheat. Bitterness is low to moderate and well-integrated, never sharp. The finish is off-dry and smooth, leaving a lingering impression of tropical fruit juice rather than harsh bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture and a creamy mouthfeel. Carbonation is moderate. No harshness or astringency is present. There is a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth consistent with its strength.
