Sierra Nevada Brut IPA
Sierra Nevada Brut IPA is a crisp, effervescent expression of the Specialty IPA style, meticulously crafted to achieve a bone-dry, champagne-style finish. The sensory experience is defined by a bright pop of citrus from late hop additions, offering notes of lemon zest and grapefruit. Its pale, brilliant appearance and high carbonation evoke the elegance of sparkling wine. The malt presence is minimal, providing a clean, cracker-like backdrop that allows the hop-forward character and balanced bitterness to shine. The result is a highly drinkable, refreshing beer that finishes exceptionally clean with no lingering sweetness.
Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (2–4 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a persistent, fine-beaded white head and moderate lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high hop intensity featuring distinct citrus notes of lime, lemon, and grapefruit. Very low malt aroma, reminiscent of white bread or crackers. Clean fermentation profile with no significant esters or phenols.
Taste. Initial impression is remarkably dry and crisp. Bright citrus hop flavors dominate the mid-palate, supported by a very low, neutral malt profile. Bitterness is moderate and well-integrated, providing balance without being harsh. The finish is bone-dry and short, echoing the crispness of a dry sparkling wine.
Mouthfeel. Light body with very high, spritzy carbonation that provides a champagne-like prickle on the tongue. Smooth with no astringency and a subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
