Liquid Barrel is a sophisticated Brett Beer that captures the collaborative spirit of Siemàn’s rustic barrel program and Liquida’s mastery of modern hops. This blend presents a vibrant sensory profile where the wild, funky character of barnyard and wet hay from barrel aging meets a punchy, tropical fruit intensity. Expect a refreshing interplay of bright citrus and stone fruit esters against a dry, wood-influenced backdrop. The marriage of these two worlds results in a complex, highly attenuated ale that remains crisp and approachable, showcasing a refined balance between contemporary hop aromatics and traditional wild fermentation depth.
Appearance.Deep gold to light amber (5-8 SRM) with a slight, hazy luminescence. Features a frothy, off-white head with moderate retention and fine, delicate lacing.
Aroma.High intensity featuring a prominent punch of tropical fruit, pineapple, and citrus zest from modern hops. This is layered over a rustic Brettanomyces character of wet hay, leather, and light earthiness, with a faint, clean cracker malt foundation.
Taste.Initial impression is a burst of stone fruit and citrus hop flavor, transitioning into a complex mid-palate of earthy funk and subtle wood. Very dry and highly attenuated with low to moderate bitterness. The finish is crisp and clean, leaving a lingering impression of wild yeast and dried fruit.
Mouthfeel.Medium-light body with high, effervescent carbonation that creates a prickly, refreshing sensation. Very subtle alcohol warmth is well-integrated, with no significant astringency despite the barrel aging.
