This Missouri Imperial Stout presents a decadent sensory journey, led by an opulent base of roasted malts evoking bittersweet chocolate and espresso. The addition of Maple Syrup provides a rich, woody sweetness that interweaves with the creamy, tropical essence of Coconut Flakes. Warm, earthy Ground Cinnamon punctuates the profile, adding a subtle spice that cuts through the intense viscosity. Without the influence of barrel aging, the pure essence of the dark grains shines, supported by deep esters of prune and raisin. It is a harmonious, full-bodied experience where the high alcohol provides a smooth, warming glow beneath layers of dessert-like complexity.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (SRM 40+). Pours with a thick, dense, dark tan head with moderate retention. High viscosity is evident through thick legs coating the glass upon swirling.

Aroma. High intensity. Upfront aromas of toasted coconut and sweet maple syrup are balanced by deep roasted notes of dark chocolate and charred grain. A spicy, aromatic cinnamon note is distinct but well-integrated. Low earthy hop notes are buried under rich esters of dried figs and plums, with a noticeable but smooth alcohol presence.

Taste. Initial impression is richly sweet and intensely roasty. Flavors of dark cocoa and black coffee meld with the buttery sweetness of maple and tropical coconut. Ground cinnamon provides a mid-palate spice that lingers into the finish. Moderate bitterness is present but largely masked by the massive malt backbone and adjunct sugars. The finish is long and decadent, leaving lingering notes of dark fruit, baker's chocolate, and warm spice.

Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied with a chewy, velvety, and luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, enhancing the beer's creamy mouthfeel. A smooth, significant alcohol warmth is present, consistent with its high strength, but lacks any harshness or solvent qualities.
