This opulent Imperial Stout presents a masterful synthesis of long-term barrel maturation and decadent adjuncts. Aromas of charred oak and rich bourbon lead into a complex bouquet of toasted almonds and the distinct, marshmallow-like sweetness of Meadowfoam Honey. On the palate, deep layers of dark chocolate and espresso from the roasted malts are softened by plush vanilla beans and a lingering nuttiness. Despite the formidable strength, the extended aging process ensures a harmonious integration of spirit warmth and velvety texture. The finish is long and bittersweet, evolving from intense cocoa to soft caramel and toasted wood.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque. Pours with a thick, creamy, deep tan head that shows moderate retention. Significant viscosity is apparent through prominent legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity. Rich layers of dark chocolate, cocoa powder, and roasted coffee beans. Deep bourbon notes provide oaky vanillin, toasted coconut, and a hint of char. Meadowfoam honey adds a unique marshmallow and floral sweetness, complemented by distinct toasted almond nuttiness and fragrant vanilla. Subtle dark fruit esters of raisin and prune.

Taste. Initial impression is exceptionally rich and decadent. Intense flavors of bittersweet chocolate and heavy roast are balanced by a significant residual sweetness from the honey and vanilla. The toasted almonds provide a savory counterpoint to the sweet bourbon and oak character. Hop bitterness is firm but well-shielded by the massive malt backbone. Finish is long, warming, and luxuriously sweet with lingering notes of vanilla and toasted oak.
