This massive Imperial Stout presents an opulent sensory journey defined by its extended 14-to-23-month maturation in Willett Rye barrels. The lack of adjuncts allows the core essence of the OWK and BVC recipes to shine, delivering an intense profile of bittersweet chocolate and espresso. The rye barrels contribute a distinct peppery spice and charred oak depth that cuts through the dense malt sugars. Expect a complex layer of dark fruit, specifically raisins and figs, melding with rich vanilla and a smooth, vinous alcohol presence. It is a harmonious, full-bodied masterclass in barrel integration and malt complexity.

Appearance. Opaque, jet black (40+ SRM) with a dense, dark tan head that leaves oily legs on the glass. Low head retention is expected given the high alcohol concentration and barrel oils.

Aroma. Intense and complex; rich aromas of dark chocolate, black licorice, and roasted coffee beans. The rye barrels introduce prominent spicy notes, toasted oak, and vanilla. Moderate dark fruit esters resembling prunes and black currants are balanced by a smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
