Imperial Stout 15 º
This massive Imperial Stout presents an incredibly decadent sensory experience, born from a masterful blend of the O.W.K., Vibes, and Chocolate recipes. Extended maturation for up to 29 months in Willett Family Estate and Still630 barrels introduces profound layers of spicy rye whiskey, toasted oak, and rich vanilla bean. The aroma is saturated with espresso and bittersweet chocolate, transitioning into a palate of dense fudge, molasses, and dark cherries. At 15% ABV, a velvety, spirit-like warmth integrates seamlessly with an exceptionally heavy, coating mouthfeel. The long-term aging rounds every edge, resulting in a harmonious, luxurious masterpiece defined by barrel complexity and deep roasted malt intensity.
Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque. Pours with a thick, dark tan head that shows low retention due to the high alcohol content. The beer exhibits significant viscosity, leaving thick oily legs on the glass when swirled.
Aroma. High intensity with a rich blend of bittersweet chocolate, cocoa powder, and intense roasted coffee. Pronounced barrel character features spicy rye, bourbon, and vanilla. Esters of dark fruits including prunes, raisins, and black cherries are prominent, complemented by a smooth, vinous alcohol presence.
Taste. An intense, complex mix of rich fudge, baker's chocolate, and burnt sugar. Deep malt flavors of espresso and molasses are balanced by a medium-high bitterness and firm wood tannins. The Willett and Still630 barrels provide secondary notes of caramel and toasted oak. The finish is long and bittersweet, with a lingering warmth.
Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied and viscous with a chewy, velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate-low. A significant but smooth alcohol warmth is present throughout, providing a luscious and substantial palate presence without being sharp.
