A monumental collaboration between Side Project and Hair of the Dog, this Old Ale is a sophisticated blend of Oregon Adambier—featuring vintages of Adam from 2014 and 2018—and Missouri Bourbon Barrel Aged Adambier, specifically the 2022 Längst. The result is an incredibly deep sensory experience where the classic dark fruit and molasses of the base style meet the refined oxidation of well-aged spirits. Expect layers of rich treacle, leather, and dark cherry, interwoven with the charred oak and vanilla notes provided by the bourbon barrels. The complexity is driven by the harmonious marriage of the smoky, malty depth of the Adambier components and the vinous, sherry-like elegance of a matured strong ale.
Appearance. Deep, dark reddish-brown to near opaque with ruby highlights. Features a low, creamy, light tan head with poor retention and minimal lacing, typical of high-gravity aged ales.
Aroma. High intensity and exceptionally complex. Dominated by malty-sweet aromas of molasses, treacle, and toffee, paired with pronounced dried fruit esters like raisins and figs.
