Josef is an elevated take on the Czech Premium Pale Lager, honoring the classic Pilsen tradition with a robust Světlé Speciální character. The sensory experience is anchored by rich Innomalt, evoking aromas of freshly baked bread and honeyed cereals. Traditional Saaz hops weave through the profile, offering an elegant floral and herbaceous bouquet. On the palate, the extra strength provides a fuller presence, balancing a soft, rounded bitterness with a distinctively crunchy grain texture. This lager finishes with a lingering, gentle sweetness, capturing the sophisticated drinkability of Josef Groll’s enduring legacy while showcasing a refined malt complexity and expert fermentation.
Appearance. Deep gold color (approximately 6 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a dense, long-lasting, creamy white head that leaves persistent lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Dominant bready-rich and honeyed malt character from the Innomalt base, complemented by a medium-high spicy, floral, and herbal bouquet of Saaz hops. Fermentation is clean with no significant esters.
Taste. Initial impression of rich, complex bready malt and toasted cereal. Medium-high hop flavor featuring floral and herbaceous notes from Saaz. Bitterness is prominent but soft and rounded, never harsh, balancing a slight honey-like malt sweetness. The finish is long and clean, with a gentle sweetness and a lingering touch of hop spice.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Despite the 6% ABV, the alcohol provides only a subtle, integrated warmth. The overall impression is soft and well-rounded.

Notre Svetly´ Speciální a été brassée avec du malt dechez Innomalt, du houblon Saaz, une levure lager et, toute l’expertise et la douceur de nos brasseurs. :) D’une grande pintabilité, cette bière rend hommage à Josef Groll, créateur de la Pilsner.
