This massive Imperial Stout, a collaboration between Sibeeria and Ārpus, delivers an exceptionally robust and velvety experience born from an arduous, extended brewing process. The sensory profile is dominated by deep layers of molasses and bittersweet dark chocolate, underscored by an evocative gingerbread spice. The addition of prunes introduces a unique smoky fruitiness that unfolds and intensifies as the beer warms in the glass. Expect an incredibly dense, chewy texture with a warming finish that reflects its high gravity and strength. It is a complex, harmonious masterpiece of dark malt artistry, balancing intense roasted grains with rich, dark fruit depth.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (SRM 40+) with a thick, creamy, deep tan head. High viscosity is clearly visible through persistent legs on the glass upon swirling.

Aroma. High intensity and complex; rich notes of dark chocolate, molasses, and toasted gingerbread dominate. A prominent smoky dried fruit character from the prunes is layered with secondary notes of black licorice, roasted coffee, and a clean, well-integrated alcohol warmth.

Taste. The palate opens with an intense explosion of bittersweet dark chocolate and thick molasses. The mid-palate reveals complex gingerbread spices and a deep, smoky prune fruitiness. Firm roasted bitterness provides essential balance to the heavy malt sweetness. The finish is long and luxurious, lingering with notes of cocoa, dark-roasted grain, and pleasant warmth.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied and exceptionally chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, supporting the beer's significant weight. A smooth, noticeable alcohol warmth is present without being sharp or hot.

Když jsme se s klukama z pivovaru Ārpus domluvili, že uvaříme silný stout s ovocem, bylo nám jasné, že to nebude jednoduchý proces, ale vaření jedné várky od rána do rána jsme úplně nečekali. Občas to ale stojí za to – hlavně když je výsledkem robustní, sametový imperial stout, ve kterém se vůně melasy, tmavé čokolády a perníku míchá s kouřovým charakterem sušených švestek, který zahřátím piva ve sklenici nabírá na intenzitě. Byla to opravdu nekonečná noc, ale my si pro dobrou věc vždy rádi posuneme své limity!

When we agreed with the guys from Ārpus brewery to brew a big fruited stout, we knew it’s not going to be an easy feat, but we didn’t quite expect to brew from morning to morning. Sometimes it’s worth it though – mainly when it gets you robust, velvety imperial stout where molasses and dark chocolate mingle with gingerbread and smoky fruitiness of prunes that intensifies as the beer warms up in your glass. It was a long night indeed, but we’re always glad to push our limits for a good cause!
