Bristly Bee is an opulent Hazy IPA that captures an intense tropical essence through a sophisticated hop bill featuring Peacharine, HBC 630, and BRU-1. The sensory profile is defined by a lush, juicy core of ripe peach and bright pineapple, further complicated by exotic nuances of dragon fruit and a delicate coconut finish. Its pale, opaque appearance leads into a viscous, medium-full body that carries heavy hop oils without harshness. The fermentation remains clean, allowing the vibrant stone fruit and tropical character to shine, concluding in a soft, pillowy finish that maintains high drinkability despite its impressive complexity.
Appearance. Straw to very light gold (3–4 SRM). Opaque, very hazy visage with a distinct 'shine.' Pours with a dense, rocky, white meringue-like head with high retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by a massive bouquet of tropical fruits including ripe pineapple, fuzzy peach, and hints of sweet coconut. Low bready, grainy malt character remains in the background. Clean fermentation with low esters that complement the hop profile; no diacetyl or acidity.
Taste. High tropical hop flavor featuring dominant peach and pineapple. The middle palate reveals complex dragon fruit and coconut notes. Malt flavor is low and bready, serving as a soft platform. Bitterness is low to moderate, providing just enough structure to balance the juice-like character. Finish is off-dry and smooth, lacking any hop astringency or resinous burn.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, somewhat viscous body with a soft, pillowy texture. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth. Extremely smooth with no harshness, grain astringency, or hop bite.
