This non-alcoholic American Lager presents a surprisingly robust profile, departing from the typical neutral character with a complex grain bill of Pilsner, Vienna, Red, and Pale Caramel malts. The result is a sensory experience characterized by a bready malt foundation and sweet caramel highlights. Despite its 0% ABV, it maintains a velvety mouthfeel that carries herbal hop notes reminiscent of a wild meadow. Brīvais Letiņš offers a refreshing, sun-drenched amber character, balancing the richness of specialty grains with a clean, thirst-quenching finish that honors its lager roots while delivering an unexpected depth of malt flavor.
Appearance. Deep amber to copper in color (approximately 8–10 SRM). Displays a clear to brilliant clarity with a frothy, off-white head that shows moderate retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with a distinct bready and grainy malt character. Notes of sweet caramel and light toasted grain are present, complemented by a low herbal and floral hop aroma. Fermentation is very clean with no detectable esters or phenols.
Taste. Initial impression is of bready malt sweetness followed by layers of caramel and toasted grain. Hop flavor is low with an herbal, spicy quality. Bitterness is low to medium-low, providing just enough balance against the malt. The finish is clean and refreshing with a lingering hint of sweet caramel and meadow-like herbal notes.
