Shining Peak Brewing showcases the precision of the style through brilliant clarity and a lively effervescence. The aroma is led by prominent spicy and floral German hops, layered over a foundation of grainy-sweet Pilsner malt that suggests toasted crackers and a touch of honey. On the palate, a firm, clean bitterness asserts itself early, driving toward a bone-dry and refreshing finish. It is a lean, highly attenuated lager where the noble hop character and a mineral-crisp profile define the experience.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (3 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Features a creamy, long-lasting white head with excellent retention and lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity of floral and spicy hop character. Low grainy-sweet and doughy malt presence with a hint of toasted crackers. Clean fermentation profile without esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Initial light grainy malt flavor is quickly overcome by a medium-high hop bitterness. Hop flavors are floral and spicy, following the aroma. The finish is crisp and dry with a lingering, clean bitterness and a faint minerality.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with medium-high carbonation. Crisp and refreshing with a clean, well-attenuated feel; no harshness or alcohol warmth.
