Sesma Samarroyo is a vibrant Specialty IPA that marries the soft, bready textures of a wheat beer with a bold New World hop profile. Brewed with a foundation of Pale malt, wheat, and oats, it presents a hazy, sun-drenched appearance. The aromatic profile is headlined by Sorachi Ace, delivering distinctive coconut and lemon zest, while Summit and Galaxy hops contribute layers of pineapple and passion fruit. Fermented with New England Ale yeast, it showcases subtle banana esters that complement the hop-derived citrus. The palate balance is hop-forward with a firm bitterness, finishing clean with lingering tropical fruit notes.
Appearance. Pale yellow to light gold (3–5 SRM). Distinctly hazy to cloudy with a thick, creamy, long-lasting white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma characterized by lemon, coconut, and pineapple from Sorachi Ace and Galaxy hops. Background notes of tangerine and citrus pith from Summit hops. The malt provides a soft, doughy wheat and biscuit presence, accompanied by light banana and stone fruit esters from the New England Ale yeast.
Taste. Initial burst of tropical fruit and citrus flavors. The malt profile features a grainy wheat tang and a bready, biscuit-like quality. Hop flavors of coconut, lemon, and passion fruit are prominent. Bitterness is firm and assertive but not harsh, balancing a light residual malt sweetness. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost creamy texture due to the addition of oats and wheat. Moderate carbonation. Very low alcohol warmth, resulting in high drinkability and a refreshing character.
