Sesma Brewing

This vibrant Red IPA showcases a striking balance between its toasted malt backbone and a generous addition of Amarillo hops. The sensory experience begins with enticing notes of sweet caramel, buttery toffee, and toasted nuts, which provide a sturdy foundation for the hops' signature citrus and floral character. Despite its colorful complexity, the beer remains light and refreshing, delivering a moderately strong bitterness that cleanses the palate. The interplay of nutty malt depth and bright, resinous hop oils creates a harmonious profile that honors the Specialty IPA tradition while maintaining high drinkability and a crisp, effervescent finish.

Appearance. Copper-red hue with a slight haze. Topped by a medium-sized, persistent beige head that leaves consistent lacing on the glass.

Aroma. Moderate to high hop intensity featuring distinct citrus, floral, and slightly spicy notes from the Amarillo. The hop profile is supported by a moderate malt presence showing layers of caramel, sweet toffee, and a hint of toasted nuts. Clean fermentation with very low esters.

Taste. The initial impression is hop-forward with flavors of orange zest and floral grapefruit. A solid malt core follows, contributing flavors of caramel and toffee that balance the moderately strong bitterness. The finish is dry and crisp, with a lingering nutty and resinous aftertaste. Alcohol is well-integrated and subtle.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, soft texture. High carbonation provides a lively, refreshing prickly sensation. Very low alcohol warmth is present but remains unobtrusive.

Sesma es una cervecera que siempre ha defendido la necesidad de estar globalizada pero siempre con un pie en lo local. Como lo demuestran toda su serie “términos” inspirada por las toponimias de su entorno rural en el que está inserta: la Ribera de Navarra.

Desde 2012, Sesma Brewing se han ido repensando y cambiando sin perder su filosofía. En 2020 lanzaron una serie de cervezas con un diseño más austero y moderno. Con esta Sesma – Red IPA – Spinning Back Fist vuelven a poner nombres a sus cervezas más allá de una descripción de su estilo. Este sorpresivo puñetazo hacia atrás viene vestido de Red IPA de 5.6% de color cobrizo y con sabores a caramelo, toffe y frutos secos. Sentido homenaje a todo lo aprendido en el Kanku .
