American IPA 3.8 º 30 IBU
Sesma Las Hoyas is an ultra-refreshing Session New England IPA designed for high drinkability. This single-hopped showcase of Citra hops delivers an expressive sensory profile of bright lime zest, juicy grapefruit, and tropical lychee. Fermented with specialized Citrus New England yeast, the aroma is further elevated by soft peach and apricot esters. Despite its light 3.8% ABV, the beer maintains a signature hazy appearance and a velvety, soft texture. It balances a delicate, grainy malt backbone with a restrained bitterness, culminating in a crisp, fruit-forward finish that highlights the vibrant citrus character.
Appearance. Pours a hazy, pale straw to light gold with a thick, frothy white head that exhibits moderate persistence and leaves fine lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by Citra, featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, tangerine, and tropical passionfruit. Supported by light, sweet bready malt and fruity esters of peach and citrus from the specialized yeast strain.
Taste. Initial flavors of fresh citrus peel, melon, and tropical fruit lead the palate. A low grainy malt sweetness provides a neutral base. Bitterness is moderate-low, significantly lower than a standard American IPA, allowing the hop oils to remain the focus. The finish is clean, dry, and distinctly fruit-forward.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a soft, slightly creamy mouthfeel typical of the New England style. Carbonation is moderate. No alcohol warmth is detected, making it exceptionally smooth and refreshing.
